Altered Thinking calls for an Altered Notebook

Today was a day for contemplation…with beautiful weather and lots of fluffy clouds in the air, who couldn’t help but daydream. Whether you’re daydreaming about possibilities or the past, sometimes it is helpful to chronicle those thoughts. It’s always nice to be able to put your introspection down on paper as a way to organize, catagorize, examine and move on.

I decided to use my creative energy today to create a chronicling vessel all of my own. I started with a kraft notebook I got from Daiso…got to love Daiso. I added some glitter paper, lace, ribbon, pearls, vintage trims, including rhinestones and seam binding and I’ve taken the ordinary to a place where romantic, shabby chic and ballet pink rule.

I’d love to hear how you organize your reflections when you’re in a contemplative mood, and to see how you refashion everyday objects until they become visual expressions of you.

Until next time….Happy Crafting!

Crafting Compulsion?

Does this ever happen to you??? Do you ever become obsessed with the silliest things? Do you sometimes exhibit a crafting compulsion that could potentially land you in a twelve step program? Okay maybe I am being a tad melodramatic, but I think I may have a problem:) So I have been going OCD over these Lace & Doily Stickers that they are carrying at the Dollar Tree. They are so adorable, and I feel this overwhelming compulsion to get them. It’s been hit or miss for me in finding them, and I have found myself guilty of drawing others into my sickness.

My mother was able to obtain several sets…my girlfriend Jona found a few…my girlfriend Karen made an attempt, but alas there were no doily stickers to be found where she went. In an effort to appease her crafty friend, she did however find some adorable 3D garden stickers. No they were not doilies but they were hecka cute!

So to say thank you to her for redirecting my one track doily loving mind, I made her this set of mini cards using the garden stickers.

They were super easy to put together, and the turned out really cute. I even made a tiny desktop box for them to sit in, so they could be kept close at hand.

So thank you to all those crazy ladies, who were trying to help this crazy crafter in her quest.

Until the next obsession…Happy Crafting!

My Little Slice of Heaven

Whoo Hoo, the studio is complete! It has only been a month, but it feels like an eternity! I still have to fiddle around with some of the placement and organization, but I am uber pleased with how everything turned out.

I feel so fortunate to have a special little space to call my own.

Thanks to everyone who helped with moving and building, and special thanks to my hubby for running with the idea once I presented it.

It’s nice when someone else can take charge and get things done! Kind of like when someone else makes dinner…so much more enjoyable to be served sometimes, rather than serving it up yourself.

So without further ado, as promised here it is…my little slice of heaven.

Until Next Time…Happy Crafting!

Veteran’s Day

An enormous thank you to all the men and women who serve our country so honorably! Just now we were able to see an air tribute overhead… what an awesome sight. You could hear all the neighborhood children excitedly coming out of their homes.

The sound from the 7 aircraft was booming, and made me thankful I’ve never had to live through a war on our homeland.

I thought I would share a few of the photos taken from my back yard.
