Viva La Verve Sketch Challenge – July Sketch No. 2

Okay, mission accomplished. Here is my entry into the Viva La Verve Sketch Challenge for July Sketch no. 2. For this card, I opted to make a shaker, and used stamps from the ‘Surely Goodness’ and ‘Beautiful’ Verve stamps sets. To make the stamped images pop, I used my Nuvo embossing powder in Jet Black.

I recently purchased a lot of the Nuvo brand of products, so I plan on doing a haul/review on YouTube in the next few days.

If you’ve entered the Viva La Verve challenges this month, leave a comment. I’d love to see what you’ve designed.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Viva La Verve Sketch Challenge – July Sketch 1

Okay so I am a little late to the game on this one, and I am going to try to play catch-up and get to sketch no. 2  today as well. It seems like ages, since I’ve participated in a card sketch challenge. Many of you who follow me on Instagram already know, I was recently introduced the Verve brand of stamps, by a wonderfully talented friend of mine, Sybil Stephens, who is @sybil_stephens on Instagram and Sybil B on YouTube.

It was love at first sight. Sybil made several cards while participating in the The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge, hosted by Kathy Rac of www.thedailymarker.com. She featured these stamps and it was a definite I gotta have them moment!

Well the stamps are very high quality photopolymer, and they stamp beautifully!!! I will absolutely be placing an order for more. As I was researching the brand, I started following them on IG (@vervestamps)almost immediately, and then noticed they host a sketch challenge on their blog www.vlvsketches.blogspot.com.

That brings us to my entry for July’s sketch no. 1.

Richly Blessed 1

Richly Blessed 2

It has been ages since, I’ve created an easel card, so I thought that’s what I’d do here. I used the Verve stamp set ‘Richly Blessed’ and their coordinating die.  I masked part of the sentiment, which originally read “May you be richly blessed this Christmas and always.” I am not even ready for Christmas in July, LOL!

Along with the Verve sets, I used my Anna Griffin ‘Blessed’ die and embossing folder ‘Chrysanthemum Toss’ and my Teresa Collins embossing folder ‘Woodgrain Cottage’. I think the embossing and gold foil cardstock lend alot of elegance to this card.

If you have an opportunity to enter one of the Viva La Verve sketch challenges this month, let me know, I’d love to see what you create!

Until next time friends,  Happy Crafting!

Digi Birthday Card – PMDC-038

Totally inspired by Nicole Watt and Kris Kilcoyne over at  Pixel Maven’s Retreat  , I decided to use their sketch to design a Digital card front.

There are a lot of birthdays to celebrate coming up soon, and digital cards offer a multitude of options and great versatility.  This would also be a cute card front for Valentine’s or Mother’s Day.

I thought the DSP “Flirtatious” had excellent colors and the Delicate Doilies Digital stamp added tons of fun to the project!

I’d love to see your take on the challenge!

PMDC 030 – Sketch Challenge

It has been forever since I posted anything!!! My craft room is non-existent. As many of you know I have redone my creative space too many times to count, and nothing has truly working for me. Below are some photos of the different stages of chaos, myself and everyone in my household has had to endure.

But no more! My original craft room has been converted to a make-up/dressing room and my darling husband has consented to having a little studio built for me in the backyard. How exciting is that?

So next Thursday will be day one of construction and I promise to post some photos of how that process goes.

Since I have very little paper, glue, etc. at my disposal at the moment I decided to go digital. The BIGGEST benefit of creating digitally??? No supplies that cannot be contained on your computer’s desktop, and ZERO mess!!!

For inspiration I used this week’s Digi Challenge from Pixel Maven’s Retreat.

Isn’t this a wonderful sketch? Kris and Nicole always provide great inspiration.

I used the dsp from the Playful Polka Dots digital kit from Stampin’ Up!, and since Halloween is quickly approaching I went back to one of my favorite Halloween photos of Ali from long ago. I think she was 2 or 3. Though clowns are not my favorite, Ali was the cutest clown there ever was…

All the World loves a Clown

I’d love to see your take on this challenge, whether digital, hybrid or traditional, and love to see what your current crafting space looks like.

Until Next Time… Happy Crafting!
