Friday Mashup Challenge No. 109

Amy White is hosting a wonderful Friday Mashup challenge this week! Her sketch is amazing, and she was even kind enough to include a tutorial. This is a really great way to make a quick set of cards perfect for a gift or for yourself.

The challenge guidelines this week are as follows:

1. Create a project using “the Sketch”.
2. Create a “Set of Cards”.
3. Or Mash it Up and create a “Set of Cards using the Sketch”.

Below is my take on the challenge, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Paper Players Challenge No. 142

I am not sure how many of you are familiar with the Paper Players Challenge this week, but let me tell you….this was HARD for me.  A single layer? I didn’t realize how dependent I was on my Stampin’ Dimensionals. I guess I over-compensated by using 4 stamp sets, a letterpress plate and three ink colors?  That being said, this was a great challenge. I may decide to revisit it on a regular basis. Even though it made me a little anxious I think it is a good practice in simplicity.

Oh yes, I do believe I may have cheated a little by adding the rhinestone to the hummingbird…I said it’s a good practice in simplicity, I didn’t say I had mastered it 🙂

I’d love to see your single layer projects!

Happy Crafting!

Generic – All Occasion Card

I recently signed up for a card swap hosted by fellow Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator Michelle Schumann. The goal of the swap was to create a card with no interior sentiment that could be used for any occasion. A card that would not be holiday or celebration specific.

Here is the card that I created along with a list of the supplies and dimensions:

Go CONFIDENTLY Card Exterior

Go CONFIDENTLY Card Interior

Card Base: 8.5 x 5.5 – River Rock
Card Matte: 5.25 x 4.0 – Cherry Cobbler
Feature Card Matte: 5.0 x 3.75 – Whisper White
Interior Card Matte: 5.25 x 4.0 – Whisper White
Stamp Set: Stampin’ Up! Live Your Dream (Set of Eight) Wood Mount
Images Used: Sentiment, Large Double Flower, Butterfly, Small Flowers (3), Small Flower Cluster
Ink Pads Used: River Rock, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green
Miscellaneous: Ribbon Bow, Black Crystal, Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive, Basic White Envelope

I know like many of you, I often suffer from writer’s block but I love the sentiment of this card so much, and have found it very useful for a multitude of occasions. Below are examples of ways in which I have used this sentiment:

Outside Sentiment: Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.

Wedding: As the two of you begin your married life together, may you attain every dream the two of you share.
Retirement: May you realize a whole new set of dreams as you embark on this new stage in your life.
Graduation: As you graduate, seize every opportunity in front of you, and enjoy every moment in the pursuit of your dreams.
New Home: Congratulations on your new piece of the American Dream!
Thank You/Friendship: Thank you for always supporting me in the pursuit of my dreams, no matter where that pursuit has taken me. Your friendship is a true blessing.
Mother’s Day/Father’s Day: Thank you for always being there for me, and encouraging me to follow my heart and my dreams. No one in the world could possibly be blessed with a better mother/father.
New Job: May your new job help you realize all of your dreams. Congratulations!
Transition/Set-Back/Job Loss/Encouragement: As you transition through this challenging time, never lose sight of your dreams. For in those dreams you will recognize your true self. Know that I/we are always here for you.

I’d be interested to know what interesting ways you find to use this sentiment & for what occasions.
