Butterfly Birthday Card – Cricut Explore & Anna Griffin

As many of you know, I adore all things Anna Griffin…paper, textiles…you name it, I love it. So when the new Cricut Explore came out with the Anna Griffin images, it was a no brainer.

I wasn’t sure what to create first so I opted for a card from the pre-designed projects library, and I am uber smitten with the results!

Also impressive, was how wonderfully the Explore functions. I have owned several versions of ProvoCraft’s Cricut Machine and this is by far my favorite. It is steady, quiet and exact. I still have a bit of a learning curve to overcome using Design Space as opposed to Craft Room, but this machine will make it totally worthwhile.

Now I need to decide what to do with that Imagine Machine of mine! Maybe a prize to one of my subscribers??? Stay tuned for that.

Below are pictures of the gift bag and gift tag that accompanied the card. I hope their recipient enjoys them as much as I do!

My Little Slice of Heaven

Whoo Hoo, the studio is complete! It has only been a month, but it feels like an eternity! I still have to fiddle around with some of the placement and organization, but I am uber pleased with how everything turned out.

I feel so fortunate to have a special little space to call my own.

Thanks to everyone who helped with moving and building, and special thanks to my hubby for running with the idea once I presented it.

It’s nice when someone else can take charge and get things done! Kind of like when someone else makes dinner…so much more enjoyable to be served sometimes, rather than serving it up yourself.

So without further ado, as promised here it is…my little slice of heaven.

Until Next Time…Happy Crafting!

Crafting Cottage Update

Okay, I promised to keep you all in the loop as construction progresses. The structure has been erected, it is 12 x 12. Over the next couple of days installation of the electrical, drywall and insulation will take place. The ceiling is going to be left open with the rafters visible. Because of the sloped roof being at a height of 8 ft., adding drywall there would make me claustrophobic.

I will have more photos as we move things along. After the exterior is painted and the drywall is up, my portion of the painting purgatory will begin.

I am thinking of going with a ballet slipper pink. Thoughts? Maybe I will post some paint samples and we will take a vote???

PMDC 030 – Sketch Challenge

It has been forever since I posted anything!!! My craft room is non-existent. As many of you know I have redone my creative space too many times to count, and nothing has truly working for me. Below are some photos of the different stages of chaos, myself and everyone in my household has had to endure.

But no more! My original craft room has been converted to a make-up/dressing room and my darling husband has consented to having a little studio built for me in the backyard. How exciting is that?

So next Thursday will be day one of construction and I promise to post some photos of how that process goes.

Since I have very little paper, glue, etc. at my disposal at the moment I decided to go digital. The BIGGEST benefit of creating digitally??? No supplies that cannot be contained on your computer’s desktop, and ZERO mess!!!

For inspiration I used this week’s Digi Challenge from Pixel Maven’s Retreat.

PMDC-030

Isn’t this a wonderful sketch? Kris and Nicole always provide great inspiration.

I used the dsp from the Playful Polka Dots digital kit from Stampin’ Up!, and since Halloween is quickly approaching I went back to one of my favorite Halloween photos of Ali from long ago. I think she was 2 or 3. Though clowns are not my favorite, Ali was the cutest clown there ever was…

All the World loves a Clown

I’d love to see your take on this challenge, whether digital, hybrid or traditional, and love to see what your current crafting space looks like.

Until Next Time… Happy Crafting!
