PMDC 021 – Color Challenge

I was excited when I saw the color challenge this week at Pixel Maven’s Retreat. They are showcasing the Good Ole’ Red, White and Blue, and I thought this would be a perfect way to showcase all those old 4th of July photos in a scrapbook page.

Fast forward…looks like all of those 4th of July photos are more like memories of many a 4th of July past, since I couldn’t find a single one.

Let’s just say I have a mind like a camera, to which I have permanently affixed these images. Not to say that I have a photographic memory, but as my husband can attest, I tend to be able to have total recall when the need arises. 🙂

So instead, I used the color challenge to highlight some photos from my Good Ole’ Days, when summers seemed to last forever. I’m the hot chick in the sunglasses, and my brother and sister are my co-stars. 🙂

I’d love to see your take on this challenge, whether digital, hybrid or traditional.

Happy Crafting!

PMDC 018 – Color Challenge

I was really excited to find this digital challenge on Pixel Maven’s Retreat.  I am new to the Stampin’ Up! family, and have never used their MDS (My Digital Studio) software, but as many of you know, I love working digital projects using Photoshop Elements. So I thought to myself…  ‘Self, what a great way to experiment with some of Stampin’ Up’s! digital download content’. 🙂

This weeks Digi Challenge, was a color challenge featuring Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Tempting Turquoise.

I used the digital content for the Designer Series Paper in all three colors, I also used several flowers from the Playful Polka Dots digital kit, which I recolored to match the challenge colors. That is the greatest thing about working digitally. Something’s not quite the right color?, you can change it, not quite the right size?  you can change it….digital is very forgiving, fast, versatile and the best part??? ZERO MESS!

Below is my take on the challenge, along with a complete list of what I used.

I’d love to see your take on this challenge, whether digital, hybrid or traditional.

Happy Crafting!
