The Shabby Tea Room – ‘Let’s Have Tea’ & The Friday Mashup No. 113

This week’s theme at The Shabby Tea Room is ‘Let’s Have Tea’. It is a photo inspiration challenge, and let me tell you, the photo made me want to put the kettle on and get out one of my favorite books.

Below is my interpretation of the challenge, I’d love to see what you all come up with.

Happy Crafting!

p.s. I am also submitting this entry to the Friday Mashup No. 113 ‘Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice’, because in my book there isn’t anything more girly or feminine then Tea Time. 🙂

PMDC 021 – Color Challenge

I was excited when I saw the color challenge this week at Pixel Maven’s Retreat. They are showcasing the Good Ole’ Red, White and Blue, and I thought this would be a perfect way to showcase all those old 4th of July photos in a scrapbook page.

Fast forward…looks like all of those 4th of July photos are more like memories of many a 4th of July past, since I couldn’t find a single one.

Let’s just say I have a mind like a camera, to which I have permanently affixed these images. Not to say that I have a photographic memory, but as my husband can attest, I tend to be able to have total recall when the need arises. 🙂

So instead, I used the color challenge to highlight some photos from my Good Ole’ Days, when summers seemed to last forever. I’m the hot chick in the sunglasses, and my brother and sister are my co-stars. 🙂

I’d love to see your take on this challenge, whether digital, hybrid or traditional.

Happy Crafting!

Paper Players Challenge No. 146

Just in time for Father’s Day, this week Ann Schach from the Paper Players Challenge focuses on clean and simple masculine cards for Challenge No. 146. I thought this would be an optimal time to work on a card for a certain Dad I know 😉

I love how the card turned out. It is always difficult for me to create a masculine card, since lace and rhinestones don’t exactly fit the bill, but a little bit of baker’s twine does the trick to fit my embellishment fix.

I’d love to see the masculine cards you create!

3 Challenges 1 Post – Well Sort Of…

So I was feeling a little behind this week and decided to go against my cardinal rule…and combine challenges. I typically like to take each challenge on it’s own, but this week has been a doozy! John had an angiogram on Friday, Ali graduated on Monday, and this weekend is the big graduation party!

Let’s just call it multitasking 😉

I decided to combine the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, the color combo from Dynamic Duos and the element challenge from the Friday Mashup (which I totally missed-need to work on time management as well as multitasking).

Tada! Here is the result!

I can’t wait to see how all of you interpret these challenges, or how you too choose to multitask.

Happy Crafting!
